Where will God take you today?

Members of the CBBA Missions/Ministry Team participated in or led a variety of short term mission opportunities over the past year. Perhaps these mission experience highlights will encourage and inspire your own involvement in missions.

Do missions have to be long trips in the summer?
No! Don't tell Joe Montgomery at Living Hope Baptist Church that missions can't be an ongoing experience throughout the year. Joe serves as a deacon at Living Hope and is responsible for coordinating mission opportunities throughout the year. Six times a year, this group scatters throughout the Brazos Valley to put hands and feet to the Great Commission by fixing roofs, renovating homes, trimming trees, painting, installing, tearing down and building up, focusing primarily on those in need. Get in touch with Joe to join their group or gain insight into this type of mission experience.

Do missions have to cost a whole lot of money?
NO! Don't tell David Peterson at FBC North Zulch that you can't afford to be a part of missions. This small church responded to a need expressed through the North American Mission Board and was able to partner with the Texas Baptist Encampment in Palacias Texas (the oldest campground in Texas) for a week of light construction and landscape maintenance. A group of eight adults participated in a week of work with significant time for spiritual retreat each day. The camp provided lodging, food, and materials while FBC North Zulch provided labor and transportation to the campground. Get in touch with David to hear more about involving your church in missions.

Should money or church size limit mission involvement?
NO! Don't tell John Chivvis at Fellowship at Field Store that God can't provide! This relatively new church, with a history of mission involvement, conducted mission work in Hamilton, Ohio this summer. A group of 30 flew to Ohio for ten days of ministry that included Vacation Bible School, Backyard Bible Clubs, and maintenance and repair work for local ministries. Partnering with the Southwest Baptist Association of Ohio, Living Hope Community Ministries, and Berean Baptist Church, this group not only experienced the thrill of reaching out to others, but also the joy of change in their own lives! Get in touch with John to hear how this trip led to immeasurable growth, challenge, and awareness of the faithfulness of God.
